Because of its numerous events hosted in 2006, Pulse of God Ministries had a growing number of new believers and those who wished to rededicate their lives and hearts to the Lord in their midst. We knew we needed to hold a baptism service, but we weren't quite sure how to go about it. Should we find a swimming pool? What about a bathtub? Then Jason and Malinda recalled their own baptism experience in which they were submerged in a public lake with about 100 people watching. It was not only the host of a baptism service, but because the baptisms were public, it was an awesome opportunity for an open call to all those who were in earshot

| It was then that the Pulse of God team realized that they needed to have a public baptism service. Not only would it be an amazing public proclamation of the lives of those being buried and raise with Christ, but also, due to the testimonies of the souls that had turned from light to dark, a public service would also spawn an opportunity for a message of hope and salvation to be proclaimed
Aside from wanting the service to be presented for all to see, the Pulse of God team also wanted to have the service in an unusual place; a place where a "church" service would be least expected: a bar. |

It was a hot summer Sunday in the North Georgia mountains, and the Chattahoochee River that runs through the heart of Helen, GA would set the stage for the day's events. The ministry team as well as those being baptized descended upon the previously scouted location in the mid afternoon. The part of the river selected was located directly between two outdoor bars that on this particular Sunday were crowded with patrons.

| As Jason and Andrew waded their way through the waters with the first blessed soul, an atheist, previously born again at a Gathering service, Jason got everyone's attention with a loud shout. Silence covered the area as those who only moments before were consumed with their afternoon beer and conversation, now fixed their eyes on the scene taking place before them.
One by one as each new believer entered the cold waters of the river, their testimonies were given, and as they were submerged in death with our Lord, so also were they raised in newness of life. After each one rose out of the water, applause erupted from the crowds above, and even those who floated by on inner tubes stopped to cheer on the blessed children of God. |

| We are assured that through the testimonies of the lives of those who had exited the dark and entered the light, that the hearts of those who witnessed that blessed occasion were softened with the love and power of God. We believe that many seeds were sown that day as men and women gathered to enjoy a Sunday afternoon drink. Our job is to simply plant the seed, while the Lord must give it increase. Do it Lord!!! | |||||||||
